Arabic and World Literature: Comparative and Multidisciplinary Perspectives (AWL) is a new open access e-journal that provides a forum in both English and Arabic for researchers investigating the intersections between Arabic national literatures, global literary theories, and current trends in World Literature. Published annually, the e-journal promotes scholarly research on the poetics of Arabic literature focusing on the interface between classical and modern, written and oral, and standard and vernacular compositions. AWL aspires to be a blazing trail in exploring the relationship between the Arabic literary tradition and its global sisters, providing a better understanding of the role of literature as both a reflector and shaper of human culture and human destiny.
